vomits and poops on floor

for months now, our cat will lay on the floor and poop will come out.....he usually throws up right before or after too and usually not far from the poop. He seems lethargic and will just lay there for a while....He's 14 years old. I also noticed that he's drinking lots of water and peeing alot but this is always in the litter box.

Sorry but there is no way for anyone to be able to tell you what the problem could be with your cat without an examination.

Your cat needs to see a vet as soon as possible he really doesn't sound well at all. There are so many different things which could cause these problems and your cat will probably need some test done to ascertain the source of the problem.

I do have a whole section here on the site about different cat health issues including pages about vomiting https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-vomiting.html but seeing as this has been going on for some time, I think the vets is the best place to take him now.
