Hi, i have a female and male kitten. The female is 11 months old and not spayed, just today we noticed she is now on heat. We plan to get her spayed just havent been able to do it yet. Our male is only 5 months old, we were basically just wondering at what age will he become active to breed? We wont to prevent this so we were just wondering?

Hi
It is usually recommned that you have your male cat neutered between 5 and 7 months old for a male cat. Although some cats do mature quicker than others. Your vet will be able to advise regarding your cat. My two boys were neutered at 4 months old by the rescue center we got them from, so at 5 months old you should start to be thinking of getting your male cat neutered too.

I have lost of pages on my site about the operation etc which you may find of further interest here
