why does my female cat always walk around the house crying.....

my female cat is now around 4 years old and she has been dressed etc and just recently my mother and i have noticed during the day she sometimes walks around the house crying, but it is not her normal meow she sounds like she is in pain. at first my mother thought it was for the toilet even though her litter tray is always clean and in walking distance, so we opened the back door for her but she just walked away. do you know why she is doing this?

Hi
well cats use their meows in many ways but mainly it is to get our attention. Please see this page for more on the different meows cats use

Some cats are just more vocal than others and this may develop as they get older. It could be that your cat has leaned that she gets attention etc when she meows.

Or she may be a little bored and needs something to keep her stimulated in the home.

I think my cat does it because...

A few years ago, I took my cat in to get spayed. Come to find out she was pregnant, they aborted them & charged me $35 more. Since then, she walks around with a random toy in her mouth crying. The only reason I can think would be is that she's looking for her babies.

I really dont think this is the case.

If she is spayed then the toy represents prey and the noise she is making is related to that. My own male cats walks around the home with a toy in his mouth and he makes this high pitched noise when he does it. I think it means keep away this is my prey.
