will cat be ok away from his siblings

Hi,


My friend has 6 cats and I am about to take on one of them. I have two concerns.

#1 Will the cat be ok without his other furry friends?

#2 We have a dog that wants to "help with everything." I am afraid that he might hurt the cat. (the cat has no claws).

Can anyone help?

To answer your first question. Yes the cat will be Ok. they are not pack animals like dogs and often prefer to be solitary animals.
