worried about my fifteen year old cat

I have a 15 year old female cat and during the last 5 months, when you pet her on her lower back, she suddenly growls, kicks and bites at her back..Why is this?

Sounds to me like she may have some pain of discomfort there. It may be caused by something like arthritis due to her age

The other possibility is that she may have a skin problem there, such as a allergy which may have caused the sin to get sores etc.This could explain why she bites the area to try and reduce the irritation.

your best option is to take her to see a vet so that the area can be properly looked at and diagnosed.
