Blood in cats urine

My cat is 24 and she went to the bathroom and it was blood everywhere. She takes medication for her kidney. Is this a sign of her kidney failing. Should we be concerned?

I would take your cat to the vets as soon as possible. It may be to do with her condition or it may be a urinary infection. In either case it is certainly something to be concerned about and to seek medical advice immediately.

I thought I was the only one...

My husband and I had (sadly she is passed now) a calico mutt cat for 24 years (does not know age when he got her but she was adult.) and we finally had to help her pass due to a hpyerthyroid condition that was unnoticed for many years and caused enlargement of her heart. She was very healthy all her life and we did not know she had this condition and sadly it ravaged her. The vet told me she was the oldest cat he ever treated being she was more than 24 years old. We miss her terribly as she was older than the kids and it killed us to let her go, but we couldn't watch her be in pain. I highly suggest you make regular visits to the vet to monitor your elderly kitty as you may be able to avoid this outcome. I know how expensive it is to take them regularly, but being a grounded part of a family for so long and loving them as a child, its worth it. I hope this helps you! Good luck to you and to kitty.
