Cat eating normally but losing weight

MY CAT IS EATING NORMALLY BUT IS BECOMING MORE & MORE SKELETAL - HE IS 12 YRS OLD PERSIAN CAT AND DIAGNOSED NEGATIVE FOR THYROIDISM - WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM????

Answer by Kate
How long ago was he tested? If it was some time since he has seen the vet I would definitely recommned that you take him back as soon as possible. there are several conditions which can cause weight loss, thyroid issues being just one of them.

Heart problems, cancers and diabetes can all cause similar symptoms and he really does need some further tests to find out what the problem is.

In most cases these conditions can be treated successfully so the sooner you take him back to the vets the better.

Best wishes Kate
