Cat Fight Wounds ?

by Marg Jacikman

My cat got into a fight a few days ago and she is an inside cat, but was out on patio for little while and another cat came up and they fought. Her mouth and her eye is sore. She won't eat or drink and we have filled a syringe a few times and put it into her mouth in order to give her water. I am wondering if we should bring her a vet or if there is something you can suggest to do at home.

Hi
Yes she needs to see a vet. It is very possible that she has an infection or is in danger of getting one. Cats have lots of nasty bacteria in their mouths and if these wounds were the results of bites and scratches then an infection is very possible. also the eye is a very delicate instrument and so does need special care.

If it were me i would take her to the vets for some antibiotic treatment.

The bathing of the eye you have been doing is perfect and will help the healing process. But apart from that there is not much else you can do for her at home.

Hope she is better soon
