Cat pees on her own paws

by Sally U

My 6 y.o. female cat wets herself when she pees !

Footprints of her back feet are always evident in her litter pee spot. Also her back feet are always wet when she emerges from the box.
The worst problem about this, is that she tracks her "litter dust" footprints
everywhere on our new hardwood floors.
The floors are dark brown and her footprints are white clay colored--her feet make spots everywhere--thru the living room, around the dining table, up the stairs, and everywhere she goes.
I'm stuck cleaning my floors 2 or 3 times a day !
Please help me!

Hi
i would try changing the type of litter you use.

Your cat may not like what is there now and is squatting awkwardly in the litter tray causing her to get her feet wet.

Also some types of litter are less likely to get stuck on the paws and cause dust marks on the floor. Paper litter might be a good idea to try.

i have a page about some of the different types of litter available here

best wishes Kate
