Cat seems to be having trouble urinating

my cat is nearly one year old and he seems to be having trouble going for a wee, for the passed two days. he keeps going to the tray to try and a little bit comes out he seems happy in himself and is not distressed he's eating and drinking fine and also passing poo fine.

there is no sign of any blood in his urine...he is also on dry food he doesn't like wet food. he's been vaccinated and wormed and flea stuff, i don't know if this is relevant but he brought his first bird home the other day, could he have caught anything from the bird. hopefully i've nothing to worry about but its something i've noticed thats unusual

Male cats are more prone to urinary infections and also urethra blockages.

the symptoms you describe definitely sound like it could be one or the other and so you will need to take your cat to see the vet as these conditions can be very painful and urgent if left for too long.
