Cat toileting problems

Hi

My cat started off urinating on my lounge rug but since I stopped a neighbours cat coming in I think she has stopped. Unfortunately now she is taking to doing a poo on the rug. She has 2 clean litter trays and goes outside when I get up around 10am to let her out. (She won't use the cat flap!!) I don't know what to do. Maybe she doesn't like the rug as it's started since I got the rug.

Please help!!!

hi well this behavior is another more drastic measure for your cat to scent mark. it is called middening and something must be upsetting her. maybe the smell of the other cat is still around in the house and this is making her feel very insecure.
