Cat vomiting and acting strangely

This may be normal, I don't know. It always seems to happen at night, but our cat will vomit or cough up a hairball, then run so fast and crazy through the house, like he's chasing something. When he stops running, he just collapses and lays in one spot without moving for a minute or so. It's so scary... Is this normal?

Hi
yes i think this is fairly normal behavior.

My old cat would do a similar thing. Its almost as if the act of throwing up the hairball is scary or they think they will be in trouble for doing it.

I wouldn't worry about the running thing, its just a reaction.

hairballs can be a problem for some cats i have a web page with some more information about hairballs etc which you may find of further interest here
