holiday travel and my cat

I adopted a cat about 6 months ago. She is still a little skittish and does not like to be held. I will be gone over the holidays for about 4 days. I hate to leave her alone for that long, but I am afraid that if I bring her with me, she will be terrified the entire time. Please advise what is best for her.

Hi
I understand your problem cmpletely. cats do not like change and this can often upset them.

I always leave my cats in their home environment but i get an neighbor to come and visit them at least twice a day to feed and clean the litter tray etc. they also spend some time with them 10 minutes or so. This way i know they are looked after, will be in familiar surroundings and will have some company.

if you cannot get a neighbor to look after them then their are some pet services around which will come and visit but you have to make sure they are reliable. often the vets surgery will have details of any in the area.

i hope you have a enjoyable holiday

best wishes Kate
