kitten pooing in wrong place

my kitten is 9 weeks old. she know where the cat litter is, she would go to the cat litter at times. But she poo's at the bootom of the stairs and iv'e lost count now of how much time's. I'm getting quite angry about this happening. what can i do to stop this from happening? please get back to me on sharpsnips@hotmail.co.uk Thank you very much.
