Ms. Cail is losing large amounts of hair

My Cat,Cali, has been for about 3 months losing large amounts of hair(more than usual).I find clumps of hair around the house and in chair pads...Should I take her to the vet,or can you help me,,Thank you so much,,,,Cali's Mother

losing large amounts of cat hair could be a sign of a skin complaint like ring worm or it could be a sign of stress.
