my 13 year old cat is urniating all over things

I have had my cat (female) for 13 years and she has been a wonderful pet and friend to my family. She has reciently started urinating in me and my husbands room. i will be sitting right there and she will go into my closet and pee. I am worried that she may be just getting too old and not able to control her bladder. She is also peeing on my husbands clothes and I am just not sure what to do.

There are two possible answers for this. either she has a urinary infection https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-urinary-problems.html
or she is trying to make the home smell more like her due to some change in the home which has un settled her. this is not unusual in fact I receive many questions about this. Strangely clothes and beds are one of the most common places, I think it is because it smells most like you and this is comforting to the cat but they still feel the need to leave their scent too. I have a web page about the possible causes etc here https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-urine.html.

You may have to try and find what is causing her the stress and also a period of cat litter training may be required also.https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-litter-box.html

best wishes Kate
