i took in a stray cat and 5 kittens about a month ago. i have rehomed 3 kittens and have kept 2 and the mother. the kittens go outside but the mother wont. i put her out and she comes straight back in again. she uses the litter tray but is just not interested in going out. what should i do as i feel sorry for her as she was outside with the kittens when i found her

Hi
I'm not sure what the problem is here.

if she has decided that she is happier inside then thats her choice. Some cats just simply are not happy outside. my sisters cat spent his whole life inside even though he could go outside it he wanted to.

Her behavior may change again in the future but for now i would just let her do what she wants to and just give her the option to go out.

best wishes Kate
