My cats been trippin

My cat has been twitching when hes touched and hiding under beds lately. I cant decide what the problem is with him. We moved into a new house and he has adjusted well to it almost immediately. Its been two months and he runs all over and has a good ol' time usually when I am around. But the passed couple days have been odd, when i touch him he twitches and when he is pet he runs or hides under a bed. He just seems a little off to me. We changed from being in small house with two people to a big house with my aunt and her 11 year old daughter.

Hi
Sounds to me like your cat may be in some discomfort when touched. the fur twitching would also indicate this.

the cause could be several things. Have your checked for fleas or other skin mites.

He may have developed an allergy caused by something biting him or even household cleaners etc, especially now he is in a different home. See this page for more on this
https://www.our-happy-cat.com/cat-allergy.html

It may even be down to anxiety caused by all of the recent changes in the home. But the fact that the twitching starts when you touch him does rather suggest that his skin could be sensitive.

your best option is to make sure he is flea free and see if that makes a difference. If not then he needs to see a vet who will take a closer look at his skin etc.

Hope you can find the cause soon as it can't be very pleasant for your cat at the moment.

best wishes kate
