My Male Cat and Male Dog's ill Behavior

Ok this is unbelievable, but my male domestic cat (who is neut) has started rubbing himself up against my male 90 lb lab (who is neut). Now when the cat does this my Lab follows him around the house, putting his paws around the cat's body and starts humping. It's happening more and more each day. They follow each other around, the cat making mating calls and off they go. Any suggestions?? I don't know if it's important, but my cat is 2 years old and my dog is 12 years old.

Well you've stumped me i'm afraid. I have never come across this before. It must have something to do with a scent that is being given off by one of them. Thats all i can think it is. Sorry, best ask a vet in case they have come across this before.
