Odd Cat Behavior

My cat had kittens about 4 months ago and was underweight as a result of she would barely leave their side while they were nursing.

Now she's gained an abnormal amount of weight and is sleeping in odd places and sniffing around my room like she's never been there before; and she's been oddly affectionate whereas she wasn't before.

She can't be pregnant again since both cats we have are female and they haven't gone outside since she gave birth.

I'm going back to college in 3 weeks, could this be why she's being oddly affectionate and sniffing around my room? She's also been getting into all my things that are packed and taken to sleeping in or on them.

Hi
well she could be in heat again and this would explain her behavior.

The kittens should be weaned by now and so she can be spayed now.

I dont know if you are going to keep the kittens or not but just to let you know that kittens need to be spayed from around 5 months old.

best wishes KAte
