siblings cats at war

by Fiona

Hi I've two female cats (sisters), and for the last couple of months they can't stand the sight of each other. Maddie my gray cat's eyes seem to be fully dilated all the time, and she has also lashed out a few times after being petted. Dizzie her sister is always growling at her. Any idea what the problem is, it's driving us up the wall.

Answer from Kate
Hi
well something has happened for the two cats to loose confidence in each other. I assume both cats are spayed, if not then this could be causing tension.

The best thing to do is to take your cats through a period of re introduction again using the safe method. this allows them to re build their confidence in each other without the fear of attack. The method is described here

best wishes Kate
