stray cat help

there is a stray cat i have taken care of for about 6 months. At first he was long haired and cute old male cat. He was nice, cuddly and meowed when you called him. But now he has no hair on his sides and growls when i touch him. does he have rabies or any illnesses? I love him as it was my own cats. What should i do?

poor thing, sounds like he has a skin problem which could be causes by mites or allergies. he must be in a lot of discomfort, which would account for his aggressive behaviour.

You need to take him to the vets as soon as possible to have the problem properly diagnoses and for the correct treatment to be prescribed. the sooner the treatment can start the sooner the poor cat will be out of pain.
