help! friendly cat turned mean

my cat was fine all day then latter in the evening it scracted my two kids severly and tried scraching me he also hissed and bite. the only thing i could do with him was lock him in the cat carrier what is wrong with him. i have another cat that shows no signs of what this cat did. what is wrong with the frist cat.

this is an impossible question to answer i'm afraid. cats react to so many little things that i couldn't say for definate what caused it. Did someone put on a strong perfume? By cat nevber butes, ever but if she get a whiff of perfume she will go mad and attack.
Keep an eye on your cat and see if there are any other symptoms which may need medical treatment.
