meowing in her sleep

my cat citali is about 3 or 4 years old in people years and now all of the sudden she is meowing in her sleep.her eyes are closed and she always seems to wake up after she is done meowing.is it nightmares or what?i dont know how to help her.can you?im very concerned and worried. please help.

Hi well i wouldn't worry too much. Although we don't know what cats dream about I think it can be assumed that it is hunting etc and when cats hunt they often make a meowing sound etc, or if they are dreaming of another cat and protecting their territory they may meow too. Often during dreaming they can make an involuntary sound (just like we humans can when we are having a particularly vivid dream).

I really wouldn't worry to much, she is just having very vivid dreams, you never know she may be having a great time dreaming of chasing birds etc. in any case there is nothing you can do to prevent dreams.

By simply giving your cat a comfortable caring, safe and fun home to live in , one where they can feel secure then you are doing and giving your cat the very best care.
