Nasty DooDoo Kitty

I have a cat that has irritable bowls. Believe me they are nasty movements. He sometimes uses the litter box for his passages but most of the time he does it just next to the box. But he still urinates in the box no matter what. The other cats usually have to cover his delieveries. He never covered his work from the world but now they are nasty. I try to bury his treasures or scoop them up. I mean when he drops his load he scoots like his tail is on fire. What can I do?

have you had him checked by the vet recently? It may be an idea as very strong smelling poo may be sign that something has upset his stomach.
The fact that he scoots could also be a sign that he is feeling unusual and the smell is also making him feel aggitated.
I would get him checked out first and then if all is well perhaps change his food. Also make sure that all cats have thier own litter trays, as smell of other cats urine etc can make a cat not use the tray and go outside it.
