Belly blemish on cat

by J. Vanderburg

My baby has this spot on her belly. It is red and looks a little raw. She has actually chewed the hair down and exposed the area even more. It is red and round. It looks almost like where her belly button would be, if cats had belly buttons. I have tried putting aloe vera or neosporin on it, trying to get it to heal, but with no luck. What could this be? Should I be concerned about her licking the aloe or ointment off? Should I continue to treat it in this way?

Sounds to be like she has either been bitten by something and has either developed an infection or is allergic to the bite. or she may have ringworm, which causes little red round patches.

In either case they do need to be treated with the correct medication and without a proper diagnosis from a vet is impossible to do. the cream you are using will do not good in nay of the above scenarios. So sorry to say it is best to have the area checked out so that you can treat effectively.

best wishes Kate
