Cat eye infection

My cat is around 3-4 yrs old and we just recently received a kitten, and the kitten is very aggressive. Well the older cat this morning wasn't really opening his right eye all the way and upon looking at it there appeared to be some drainage or fluid and his lower lid is very pink looking. I was wondering what this could be and what can I do about it? Thank you.

Hi
well it sounds to me like he may have had his eye scratched by the kitten, in which case he definitely needs to see a vet as an infection is very likely to occur. in fact it sound like it may have started already.

this is not an uncommon injury but it does need to be treated properly by a vet as soon as possible.

I hope he is better soon
best wishes Kate
