cat memory

Would my cat remember cats she was with in the shelter 2 years ago? She seems depressed and very needy for attention. I have thought of getting another cat to keep her company, but would like for it to be one she knows. Any suggestions?

Difficult to answer this one as no one can prove this or not. Unfortunately their are no guarantees that she would get along with another cat even one she may have known before. All you could do is to see if you could re home a cat for a trial period to see how they got along. using the introduction method can also help this process.

May I just say that if your cat appear to be depressed it may be a sign that she does not have enough stimulation in her life to keep her happy. cats need a lot of mental stimulation and if they don't get this this can cause depression etc. I don't know if your cat is an indoor only cat or not but in any case i have a web page about this here which you may find of further interest
