cat using litter box sporadically

We have a cat that is a mystery. She gets an infection no vet can figure out. We give her antibiotics and it clears up. She takes spells where she wont use her litter box. Its not diarrhea nut does not have much texture. Shes 12 and very nervous. She has privacy with her litter box so thats not it. My wife says she is gettin senile nut i think its behaviorial please help?

Hi difficult to answer without more detail. When you say infection do you mean that she has diahreah a lot?

o it could indeed my due to old age but i would have thought that the vet would have suggested that to you.

I don't know what you feed her but you could try giving her only dry complete cat food (good quality) which should help and encourage her to drink more which if the infection you mentioned is to do with her urination would help. I found this wil my cat.

Other than that I don't know what else to suggest with the details I have and also the fact hat the vet is finding it difficult to diagnose.
