Female cat urinating on everything!

I am adopting a 3 year old cat from a household of 10 other cats. She is bullied often and urinates on anything and everything. My question is: Will she continue to urinate when I take her to a home that is free of other cats?

Hi
well she may still display this behavior for a little while until she relaxes in the new home.

I would suggest that when you get her home you start her off in one room only for a few days with her litter tray toys and bed etc. Tis will give her less to worry about and time to relax and get used to using a litter tray again.

Then I would suggest rubbing her with a clean towel and then spreading her scent around the home, on door frames, chair legs etc.

Then start to let her out of the room for short periods for a few days so that she can begin to grow in confidence. Then when you feel she is relaxed you can let her roam free.

there may still be the odd incident of urination but yes she should calm down and the behavior should stop.

You could also try one of those cat calming sprays around the come as this can help relax particularly anxious cats and it sounds like this poor little girl may be a bit upset by her previous experiences. I have more information about these calming products here
