Fluid from cats nose

My siamese cat has clear fluid dripping from his nose, or maybe his mouth

do i need to get him to a vet?

Answer by Kate

well it could be that he has a cold and has a runny nose.

If I were you I would see how he is in a day or so and if he is still the same then yes take him to see a vet.

Make sure your cat has plenty of water to drink as this will help him through a cold and also stop him from dehydrating.

I have a page here on the site about cat flu which is a more extreme form of a cold and if your cat is not vaccinated against it you may find it useful to recognize the symptoms just in case.

However lets hope this is just a little cold that he will get over in a day or so.

best wishes Kate
