Friendly Cats??

We have 2 cats; one older male, the other-under a year also male.

When we first introduced them the older one showed his dominance.
Now he just wants to play but the younger one is too afraid and hisses and runs and hides.
What can we do?

Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do. Normally what would happen is that the two cats will sort it out amongst themselves. the hissing is because the cat is feeling afraid because he is not used to the other cat behaving this way.

Hopefully in time he will get used to the new behavior and become less afraid.

As long as the two cats get along most of the time then i would simply let them sort it out over time. It is unlikely that they will badly fight it will probably be all show most of the time.

You could try playing with them and some string together to get them used to playing in the same room.

best wishes Kate
