I've had my cat for 4 years now, why has she changed.

i got genie about 4 yrs now when she was a couple of months old from a pet shop she purred constantly, now she doesn't want to be held more then 60 seconds and not much affection like my last one i had, she sleeps in my bed room on a chair next to me most of the time, but when i reach out to pet her she just runs away 90% of the time? whats with her?

Ah who can say what goes on in a cats mind. This behavior may be down to many things ie.
have you changed your perfume or deodorant. Sometimes cats hate certain smells.

Something may have happened to her which has scared her and she is blaming you for the fright, this can happen too from time to time. She will need time to rebuild her confidence in you again.

the other possibility is that she is not feeling herself and just wants to be left alone. look out for any other symptoms, loss of appetite, sickness etc.

Apart from that you will just have to be patient with her and see if this changes. don't push the situation, let her show you if there is anything wrong or not.
