my two cats fight all of a sudden

I have 2 domestic male short haired cats that have grown up together. recently 1 of the cats has taken a dislike to the other. it just attacks the other cat for no reason. it can be asleep and for no reason the other cat will just jump on him and tear strips off him.

They are both spayed. Im not sure how to stop this.

This may be a case of something called aggression trauma. This is a common issue and can start up all of a sudden.
