Pregnant Cat situation

by Bryan

I have a pregnant cat that has been pregnant for the full term and at this time all she has been doing the last 24 hours is basically lying in one spot with little to no movement. When should I start being really concerned? I have noticed a few blood spots that are small in size as well. She has had one other litter of kittens with no complications.

Hi I wouldn't be surprised that by the time you see this reply that she has either finished giving birth or has at least started.

her behaviour could suggest that she is about to go into abort, but this can take some time and can be different for every pregnancy and cat.

I would leave her alone for a while but keep an eye on her regularly. the only time to intervene is if she shows real signs of distress or if she seems to be pushing for a very long time but without results. In which case call your vet for advice.

I hope all goes well

best wishes KAte
