Tiger my cat seems to be in pain

My cat is a male, 7yrs old and usually goes to the bathroom once a day and puts out boulders. Now all of a sudden he has been walking around as if he is in pain. He growls and licks his butt lightly. I'm afraid and I don't know if this could be serious or not? Please help!

there could be several reasons for this behavior.

he may be constipated see here for more on this

he may have blocked anal glands which the vet would have to treat.

Or he may have a flea or parasite problem like worms, see here for more on cat worms

To be honest if you suspect your cat to be in pain or discomfort then your best option is to take him to the vets for a proper diagnosis.
