My Cat Has Giant Bald Spot

my cat has fleas a while back bad. he’s very loved and spoiled but we never noticed them due to his thick fur. until he started rippping the fur out right above his tail which revealed the feces. i bathed and treated him and they were gone. nonetheless about a month ago he’s started again. he’s ripped out a giant spot that’s progressed up his back. it touched he bites his arm aggressively. i’ve checked several times fearing fleas again but nothing. it’s very noticeable and my mom says it’s probably nothing. help.
