my kitty has been scratching her butt and the hair is falling out and she has rough patches on her back that are scabby

Sounds to me like a either a skin allergy or a parsiate problem.

A cat who is scratching like this i this area often needs to see a vet as soon as possible to get a proper diagnosis of the problem so that the correct treatment can be given.

This must be very distressing and even painful for the cat so the sooner you can get them checked the better.

Don't worry though, this is not uncommon and should be able to be treated easily and quickly.
