8 yr old cat

my 8 yr old cat is not active at all.he was fixed at a 1 yr old.he lays around and sleeps most of the day .he sleeps alot at night too .he eats normal.is this normal behavior for a 8 yr old cat .thanks.

Hi well yes cats can sleep for up to 16 hours a day, some cats are of course more active than others and this is all down to personality and sometimes the breed too.

he does need to be a little active though to prevent weight gain and also to make sure that he is stimulated enough. so it is always wise to bring new toys and playtimes to his daily routine to keep life interesting for him, this will also encourage him to be more active.
