black cat, white hair?

My black cat all of a sudden has grown white hairs all over her body. She was sick a little while back, her white blood cell count was really high. She seems to-be better now but all of a sudden her black hair is starting to look speckled with white hairs. I just want to know that its nothing to worry about. What is it?

You did not tell me how old she was. It may be a sign of old age or it may be genetic i.e in her blood line their may have n=been some white fur.

My black cat has white hairs running through his fur too. he's only 2 but you would think he was a old cat from his coloring.

I don't think it bares any indication of illness but it you are still concerned, telephone your vets office and just ask the question. If they are any good they should be able to give you an answer over the phone, if not your local animal charity will have lots of experience and will probably be able to give you another answer. But as I say i have never heard of fur changing color indicating illness.
