Cat acting crazy

by Crys

I have a 7 month old ragdoll who is as sweet as can be. Lately he has been whining A LOT after I get home from work and in the wee hours of night. There is no specific time but lately it's waking me from my sleep. My kids and I dote on him as much as possible because he is by himself all day. We play with him, he gets fed regularly and always has a clean litter box. Also, his stool has been really runny lately and he's been sloppy near his litter box. He went to the vet a few weeks ago for shots and is scheduled to be neutered next month. Hoping this calms him down! He does want to go outside so we will let him sit out there sometimes but he is too brave and I don't want him running away (or getting fleas!) Is he stressed??

Hi
I think this has a lot to do with the fact that he is not yet neutered. The instinct and drive to get out there and stake his territory is strong and this would cause him to cry more as he is crying out to other cats in the area. A normal cat in season behavior.

All you can do is to have him neutered as soon as you can and to try and make his indoor life as stimulating as possible in the mean time. Also there are cat enclosures you can buy which allow your cat to go outside in a safe environment etc. This may be a good option for you and your cat.
