Cat acting Skiddish

adopted a cat, under 2yrs, from a shelter, who at the place was very friendly. now, that she's at home is acting very skiddish. i'm concerned that she may not be people friendly like i thought. could it be bec she's learning about her new home?

Hi
yes don't worry some cats can take longer to settle into a new home than others. plus we can never be sure what background she has come from and what experiences she may have gone through. All of this can affect how she reacts to being in a new home. Some cats can take a few days, while others weeks.

I have a web page about bonding with your new cat which you may find of interest here

Give her space and time and do not try to force her into anything. let her find her own way around etc and I'm sure that she will eventually become the wonderful pet you hoped for.

best wishes Kate
