Cat Aggression

Our 3 year old female cat has somehow scared our older 6 year old female cat. The older cat will not leave a certain room in our house. We have to bring food to her and recently, she is so scared, she will not use the litterbox. The 3 year old keeps attacking and taunting the old cat. What can be done to stop this? We have tried separation, punishment, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Answer from KAte
Hi punishment is not the answer, the cats confidence needs to be rebuilt. This is a common problem and one that requires a little time and effort to help rebuild the two cats relationship again.

Please read this page for information on how to reintroduce the two cats to each other again. Its just like starting all over again with new cats, takes a little time but is worth it in the end.

Here is the process
