cat breathing wheezing, overweight

My ten year old cat is overweight. in the past year she has been wheezing. I have taken her to a vet who put her on science diet r/d. My cat is eating and purring but her breathing is bad. The vet wanted to xray her but I did not have the money. Please advise what you suspect going on and what I can do.

I have used homeopathy for allergies, pulsatilla, herbs tincture.
reiki.

Please help

Hi
Unfortunately there is no way to be able to guess what the true cause is just by your description. It could be that the weight is putting pressure on the lungs or there may be some other obstruction causing the wheezing.

There may even be a problem with the heart. In any case the only way for the vet to be sure is to do tests and xrays.

I'm sorry sometimes there is just no other way.

Why is the cat overweight?
by: Anonymous

Are you overfeeding it? Overfeeding a cat is the worst thing you can do for its health. Tinctures of this and that are worthless. Stop overfeeding it. It's a form of abuse. There is no need for a cat to be obese. It's not cute and it's not love.
