Cat difficulty walking

my 1year old female Bengal is finding it difficult to walk, (she is not pregnant) and cannot get up the stairs or jump on to my lap she walks for a few steps before having to stop and crouch down. vet gave her pain killers and said come back in a week. can you help

Sorry no not really, I am not a vet and so cannot diagnose, I also have not come across this before. it does sound strange though. She must be having pain or discomfort for her to do this. I am also surprised at your vets response. I would have thought that he would want to do tests etc to find out what is wrong.

I used to think most vets in the Uk were excellent as we are a nation of animal lovers and our laws for animals are the best in the world I think but I have recently found out from a member of the RSPCA that this is not the case any more and some vets are i am afraid to say driven by money. All I can say is if you feel that you are not happy with your vets diagnosis, take them somewhere else for a second opinion.

Perhaps someone else who sees this post will have had a similar experience and be able to advise.
