Cat goes from friendly to unfriendly

Hi, I have a fully grown female cat who is usually very friendly but all of a sudden today when she came in she is moaning and growling under her breath whenever I come near her, she is able to fall asleep and there is no visible problem such as an injury but when i try to approach and talk to her she'll keeps moaning and will want to be left alone. I have two other cats, one only recently went missing and the other is younger but she gets along fine with both. I have had them all for a good few years and this hasnt happened before. Help?

Hi Barry
Cats will react with aggression or bad temper when they are fearful. often fear is triggered when they are feeling unwell.

Cats are as you know very good at covering their illnesses and symptoms from us and so it may not be obvious to you as to what could be wrong.

if this behaviour has continued for some time now then something must be wrong for her to not want to be touched etc. And of course the only way to find out for sure is going to have to be a examination from a vet I'm afraid.

best wishes kate
