cat has a cold

My daughters cat seems like he has a cold. He can't breathe through his nose, and his eyes are matted pretty bad. any help?

Cat colds are common and like us can be mild i.e. runny nose etc. However there is also cat flu which can be very nasty indeed and many vets vaccinate cats against this.

It is important to make sure that your cat does not get dehydrated , so make sure that fresh water is always available. You can also gently wipe discharge from the eyes and nose with moist tissue. But if the symptoms do get very bad you will have to take your cat to the vets.

I hope your cat feels better soon, it can be very distressing to see a sick cat.
