Cat has a large lump and it leaks

by Lea

My cat has a large lump below her stomach. I have taken her to the vet and spent as much money as I can; they couldn't find out what was wrong with her just that she has a higher white cell blood count than expected for bruising and swelling as they origninally thought. I love her dearly and she is 17 now and I cannot forsee or afford much esle being done for her! They gave her antibiotics and said it should go away; that was 4 days ago and it is stil swelled and a little harder. What in the world could this be!? She is still eating, playing, sleeping well and still very loving! She isn't in pain!! What could be going on?

Hi
Four days isn't really enough for the antibiotics to do their job. However i am amazed that the vet gave you antibiotic for something they dont know what is. I assume they have done t because the white cell count is up which could be an indication of an infection.

All you can o is to keep giving her the antibiotics until they run out and if there is no change then the only option is for more tests to be done on the lump, a biopsy etc

I couldn't possibility comment on what it might be as guessing can only make things worse.

Lets hope the antibiotics do there thing and it is only an infection and cyst.

best wishes Kate
