cat has drool coming from his mouth

My cat has drool coming from his mouth that smells weird and his mouth twitches sometimes. he has a puffy irritated spot on his eye. he's not eating as much. he's alert, but I can tell he isn't right. what do you think it could be?

The fact that this problem is affecting both his eye and his mouth is unusual. It could be an allergic reaction to something perhaps a sting or a bite, this may also account for the drool.

He may have a bad tooth or abscess which has become infected and this may also be affecting the eye.

In either case your cat needs to see a vet as soon as possible especially as he is now not eating as much as he was. He is probably in some pain or discomfort so the sooner he is treated the better.

Poor little guy he must be feeling miserable as cats do love their food.
