cat hiding

my cat is hiding and running away from me as if he is scared. he still eats and drinks, but why is he acting this way?

Hi well if this is a new situation then it could be that something has scared him , like loud noise, getting his tail trapped etc and is blaming you for it. This is not unusual and usually can be sorted out with a little extra TLC and patience.

Just a thought, you haven’t changed your perfume/aftershave/soap recently? I ask because some scents can be very threatening to some cats, I myself was scratched by my own cat (who never never scratches or bites) just because I was wearing a different scent.
